Young Cobblers record-holder joins the Bees

Harborough Town are delighted to have secured an initial 28-day loan with Northampton Town for their highly-rated young defender Josh Tomlinson. Josh has fast become a Cobblers record holder, firstly being their youngest ever player in 2021 aged just 15, a record taken from current England international Ivan Toney; and then scoring vs Arsenal U21’s in the EFL Trophy in October 2022 to become the clubs youngest ever goalscorer!

The Bees manager Mitch Austin said of the loan signing; “it just shows how far Harborough Town have come over the past 2 years when a professional league club has the trust and confidence in our club to nurture and give Josh the game time he needs in men’s football to hopefully develop and strengthen his undoubted potential. Having just turned 17 earlier this month Josh is already showing what great credentials he has to be the youngest ever player to both represent and score for his club.”

Josh recently signed a long-term contract with Northampton Town and we thank them for entrusting Harborough Town in his further development. Josh will come into the squad for the Boxing Day home match vs Boldmere in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division. Earlier ko of 1pm at the BeeHive.

Welcome to the #Beehive Josh!
