Another committed trio from our UCL South title winning team and last year’s promotion team sign up! The club are pleased to confirm the signings of experienced campaigners who are held in such high regard by those players in the changing room!
Paul Malone has step 2 and 3 experience, and scored 7 goals in his opening 10 appearances this past season before injury put him out for a large part of it, although he made a very welcome return late on in the season. Gary Mulligan with his football league experience which shone through as we closed out the regular season with his assured central midfield performances ensuring we went into the playoffs in the best possible form and mindset. A member of the 200+ appearances club, Dan Forbes, has also signed up and no doubt his versatility will again come to the fore as he embarks on his first experiences of step 3 football and we know he cannot wait to get going!
Manager Mitch Austin said this on their commitment; “To get experienced players at step 3 and above will be invaluable for the coming season and with Molly and Mullers we have that in abundance! Not many teams will be able to call on their experience and versatility. What they bring to the changing room and the pitch will be great for the younger lads.
As for Forbo, he may not have played at the level before but he knows the club inside out with over 200 appearances for the club and that type of experience, although different to the other two, will stand us all in good stead for what lays ahead.
All three are unbelievable footballers and are leaders on and off the pitch so I am delighted to be working with all of them again for next season and, I hope beyond.”
